Create crystal-clear castings and glossy decorative surfaces with Mercola Liquid Glass Crystal. This transparent, two-component epoxy resin is suitable for casting, coating, mould-making and embedding decorative objects.
Its clear, glass-like finish makes it ideal for resin art, jewellery, coasters, trays, tabletops, wooden projects and other creative applications. It can also be used as a glossy varnish and coloured with compatible transparent pigments.
Mix Resin A with Hardener B at a ratio of 100:50. For the best results, work with clean, completely dry surfaces and mix only the quantity required for immediate use.

Important: The mixture produces heat while curing. Avoid mixing large quantities, particularly at temperatures above 25°C. Keep the product, tools and working surface completely free from moisture.
Take great care with the quantity being mixed and the mixing method, as the material can reach very high temperatures.
- Surfaces must be dry and free from dust and grease.
- Ensure that the work area, the materials to be embedded or mixed, and all measuring and mixing containers are completely free from moisture. In difficult conditions, using a dehumidifier may help.
- Using a spatula, mix Resin A with Hardener B at a ratio of 100:50.
- Use a precision scale or graduated measuring container.
- Do not mix using a drill. Mix manually with a spatula or wooden stirrer.
- Mix only the amount you intend to use immediately, as the mixture begins to harden very quickly. The larger the quantity mixed and the higher the ambient temperature, the faster the material will cure due to the exothermic reaction. Extreme caution is required at temperatures above 25°C. The recommended working time is approximately 5–10 minutes, increasing to 10–15 minutes at lower temperatures.
- If applying the material in layers, apply each new layer as soon as the previous layer begins to set. Alternatively, apply it after the previous layer has fully hardened.
- Suitable moulding materials include melamine treated with MINOS SILICONE SPRAY, polyethylene and polypropylene, such as self-adhesive packaging tape, plastic sheets and plastic bags.
- Apply the material to the prepared surface, ensuring that a suitable mould or barrier is in place to prevent the resin from running.
- Avoid high temperatures, moisture and dust while the liquid glass is curing.
- If using LIQUID GLASS CRYSTAL as a varnish, spread it evenly over the entire surface using a spatula.
- If air bubbles become trapped, remove them using a pin, heat gun or hair dryer, taking care not to overheat the material.
- Initial curing occurs within 2.5–4.5 hours. Full curing takes 4–7 days, depending on the thickness of the layer and the ambient temperature.
- After curing, imperfections caused by the mould or application may be sanded and polished to achieve a glass-like finish. Follow an automotive paint-polishing process, beginning with fine standard sandpaper, continuing with wet-and-dry sandpaper and finishing with specialist polishing compounds.
CAUTION
- Moisture interferes with the curing reaction and creates bubbles. Take particular care with wood that is not sufficiently dry. For these applications, it is advisable to prime the surface with a thin layer of LIQUID GLASS CRYSTAL. If bubbles appear, sand the surface and prime it again.
- The product has very good resistance to sunlight but is not suitable for prolonged exposure to ultraviolet radiation (UV). It offers the highest possible resistance among comparable products.
- Lightweight decorative objects must be secured to prevent them from floating or moving before the material has fully cured.
- Avoid mixing large quantities of material. Heat accelerates the exothermic reaction and can trap bubbles created during mixing. If the material begins to overheat, do not use it.
- In the event of severe overheating and possible smoke emission, spray the surface with a fine mist of water to reduce the temperature.
- Close the containers tightly and do not interchange their caps.
- Testing the suitability of the materials for each application is recommended.

COLOURING LIQUID GLASS CRYSTAL
You can colour the liquid glass using transparent pigments. These maintain the transparency of the liquid glass while providing an excellent coloured effect for your creations.
Great care is required to achieve the desired result. The pigments are highly concentrated. Just 1–3 drops may be sufficient to colour 50 g of the finished product.
Application instructions: Add a small quantity of pigment to Component A. Mix thoroughly using a clean wooden stirrer until the pigment is completely uniform, paying particular attention to the bottom and sides of the container. Add Component B (the hardener) and mix thoroughly.
Caution: Adding too much pigment may prevent the liquid glass from curing properly. The pigments may be used to colour the entire project or added only to the final layer to create a background. Bear in mind that coloured resin will appear much darker in the mixing container than when applied in a thinner layer over a large surface.
CLEANING
Clean tools and any spills or residue immediately after use with nitro thinner.
