Directions:
- Apply sparingly using a fixative atomiser, hold approximately 40cm from the artwork.
- Allow it to dry; the formula is quick-drying.
- Expect some change in appearance: it can make colours darker and more transparent.
This bottled fixative needs a separate atomiser for application. Test on a sample first to judge the colour change. Use in a well-ventilated area away from flames and ignition sources—the formula contains ethanol and acetone and is highly flammable.
(An atomiser is a device that turns liquid into a fine spray or mist.
For your Talens fixative, a fixative atomiser draws liquid from the bottle and sprays it gently over the drawing. Traditional artists’ atomisers use two small tubes: one goes into the liquid, and you blow through the other to create the mist.
This lets you apply the fixative without touching or smearing the charcoal with a brush.)
