Price is for 1 set (2 parts)

Create strong, transparent castings and smooth glass-like surfaces with Mercola Liquid Glass 3kg. This two-component epoxy resin is designed for casting, coating, embedding, moulding and professional decorative applications.

When Component A resin and Component B hardener are combined in the correct ratio, the mixture forms a durable transparent finish with excellent adhesion, mechanical strength and resistance to moisture, temperature, solvents and many chemicals. It fills pores and gaps without shrinking, making it suitable for larger resin projects, decorative surfaces and repeated workshop use.

Mercola Liquid Glass can be used to embed completely dry decorative elements such as pressed flowers, leaves, shells, pebbles, photographs, coins, beads and mineral stones. It is also suitable for protecting and decorating surfaces made from wood, metal, stone, ceramic, porcelain and cardboard.

The set contains 3kg total of Component A resin and Component B hardener for mixing at a ratio of 100:60.

How to Use

  1. Ensure the surface, mould, tools, mixing containers and decorative materials are completely clean and dry. Remove all dust, grease and moisture.
  2. Measure 100 parts Component A resin to 60 parts Component B hardener. Always use a precision scale or suitable graduated measuring container. Do not estimate the quantities.
  3. Mix the two components manually with a clean, dry spatula or wooden mixing stick. Scrape the sides and bottom of the container carefully until the mixture is completely uniform. Do not mix with an electric drill.
  4. Mix only the amount you can use immediately. Do not combine the entire 3kg kit at once unless it can be spread promptly over a suitably large prepared area.
  5. Pour the mixture into a prepared, leak-proof mould or spread it evenly across the surface using a spatula.
  6. Secure lightweight decorative objects before pouring so that they do not float or move during curing.
  7. Remove trapped air bubbles carefully with a needle. Avoid applying excessive heat, as this can accelerate the reaction and cause bubbles or discolouration.
  8. Protect the application from moisture, dust and excessive heat throughout the curing period.
  9. When working in layers, apply the next layer as the previous layer begins to set. Alternatively, allow the previous layer to cure before applying another layer.
  10. Allow approximately 4–6 hours for the initial set, 6–12 hours to become touch dry at 20°C, and 4–7 days for complete curing, depending on the layer thickness and ambient temperature.
  11. Once fully cured, imperfections may be progressively sanded and polished to produce a smooth, glass-like finish.

Important Cautions

  • Read the product labels, Technical Data Sheet and Safety Data Sheets before use.
  • Recommended for professional, technically experienced or properly supervised adult users.
  • Keep out of reach of children and pets.
  • Wear chemical-resistant protective gloves, protective clothing and suitable eye or face protection.
  • Work in a well-ventilated area and avoid breathing vapours.
  • Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Epoxy components may cause irritation or an allergic skin reaction.
  • Do not eat, drink or smoke while using the product. Wash hands thoroughly after handling.
  • Mixing creates an exothermic chemical reaction that generates heat.
  • Never mix the entire 3kg kit in one deep container. A large mass of mixed resin can overheat rapidly, cure prematurely, create bubbles, discolour or release smoke.
  • Divide the product into smaller accurately measured batches and apply each batch promptly.
  • At temperatures above 25°C, working time can be significantly reduced. The manufacturer advises that mixed quantities above 500g may need to be spread within approximately 5–10 minutes, or 15–20 minutes at lower temperatures, while monitoring the mixture’s temperature.
  • If the resin becomes unusually hot or begins showing signs of severe overheating, stop using it and follow the manufacturer’s emergency guidance.
  • Do not use wet tools, damp moulds, moist surfaces or decorative objects containing moisture. Humidity can cause cloudiness, bubbles and curing problems.
  • Ensure moulds and surface borders are leak-proof before pouring.
  • Keep the containers securely closed and never interchange the lids of Components A and B.
  • Not recommended for continuous exposure to sunlight or ultraviolet radiation.
  • Do not pour uncured resin, hardener or cleaning solvent into drains, soil or waterways.
  • Dispose of remaining material and empty containers according to local regulations.
  • Always test material compatibility on a small area before starting the final project.
  • These instructions do not replace the manufacturer’s label, Technical Data Sheet or Safety Data Sheets.
